POP Montreal International Music FestivalCallOpens November 5, 2026

POP Montréal 2027

This call opens on November 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM EST.

Who can enter

Anyone with the materials this entry needs may enter: an act with a name and a homebase, at least one track, a photo, and a bio in one language. Identifiers are optional. Every career stage and every genre is welcome. Since 2002, POP Montreal has listened to every artist who applied, and its stages have held first releases from the Mile End alongside Patti Smith, Tinariwen, Mavis Staples and Tangerine Dream, among more than 400 acts a year in some fifty venues. Send your music as it is today.

How this call decides

  • A public listening round is on. Listeners will hear the tracks and weigh in.
  • The presenter deliberates in private.
  • Nominations from other presenters are accepted.

Every entry is read and heard by POP Montreal's programming team. They read your bio and your answers, listen to your tracks, and talk about what they heard. The programming team decides the programme. During the call, public listening sessions put the tracks in front of listeners who vote on what they heard. The vote informs the team's reading and does not decide it. The team also weighs the shape of the festival: the balance of the programme, the dates and the rooms available. Answers to the sensitive questions are read in aggregate only, for reporting to funders. No score is published. You will hear from POP Montreal by the date shown on this page.

What happens to what you provide

The public informs, the presenter decides. If this call has a public listening round, the tracks you choose will be played to listeners in random sets in January, with your images. You can vote in this call too. You will never be served your own act, and your vote counts like anyone's.

POP Montreal will keep what you provide for 24 months after the call closes. The files will then be deleted, and the outcome and your consents will stay.

Link your release and we will fill in the titles, codes and credits. This is optional. Create or open your MetaMusique account
